Afghanistan is a country that is located in Asia and is bordered by the countries Pakistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. It is a country that has seen wars in the last 30 years and has had many troubles. Although Afghanistan is still on the edge of a hostile area, it has many treasures that the world does not know about. Samangan is a location for shrines and caves, which is a Buddhist treasure. Buddha statues of Bamiyan are in ruins that leave the traveler in amazement. Afghanistan has beauty and charm that has yet to be discovered by many.
Afghanistan has seen so much turmoil over the years that it is hard to understand for someone that does not live there. It has been invaded with internal and external problems going far back in history to Alexander the Great. Afghanistan people are strong people that have endured more then we can imagine.
Afghanistan economy is at the top of the world’s poorest countries. The country has been hit with many years of war and political inconsistency, which has created the country to be destitute. Afghanistan produces food products such as rice, wheat, barley, corn, fruits and vegetables for export. Mostly agriculture and raw materials; tobacco, sugar beets, castor beans and cotton also are grown for export. Sheep farming is a very important commodity, which exports Karakul skins and wool.
In the summer, Afghanistan can be extremely hot with a temperature reaching as high as 49 degrees Celsius as compared to the winter months, where it can be as low as –9 degrees Celsius. During the fall the weather is dry and mild, making it the best time to travel to Afghanistan.
