In the 21st century, renting a car has become a very easy and convenient procedure. Rental companies charge around $200 to $350 per day depending on the type of car that is rented and the place where it is rented. Some of the big companies that provide this service are AVIS and BUDGET.

In the United States of America, only those who are above the age of 25 can rent a car, provided they meet other conditions regarding drivers license and geographical restrictions. Most of the car rental companies accept credit cards only and might keep the card as a deposit or security.

California has the maximum number of car rental companies in the United States of America. Some companies, like CARRENTALS, provide this service for $10 per day.

Customers should not get drawn to companies that promise a very low rent because these rates might not include the taxes that the government imposes from time to time. The lure of low rates is very common because the unsuspecting customer, after getting to the rental company, generally tends to rent a car even if the actual rent is exorbitant.

Some of the car rental companies are international while others are national. The advantage that a customer has, when he chooses an international company over a national one, is that he can use the same company while traveling abroad. It is important to do a quality check on the vehicle that is being hired because if any damage is sustained then the driver is held responsible.
